please post your config, collector version, which distribution you are using and the platform/OS you're running on so that people can get some context on the issue

I took a look at the kafkametrics receiver code and wanted to share what might be causing this.
The error no scraper found for key: topic typically means there's a scraper name in your config that doesn't match the valid options.

Valid scrapers are:
• brokers
• topics (note the 's' - plural!)
• consumers

Common mistakes:
• topic (singular) → topics (plural)
• producer or messages → These don't exist in kafkametrics receiver

Could you share your receiver config? I'm guessing it might be something like:

yaml
receivers:
kafkametrics:
scrapers:
- topic # <- Should be "topics"

Also worth checking:
• Are you using the otelcol-contrib distribution? (kafkametrics is contrib-only, not in core)
• What version of the collector are you running?
